[By using a yum server we can also install. Upgrade and remove software with all dependencies but rpm we can install single software at a time without dependencies. By yum we can install multiple software at a time, but by rpm use cannot install multiple.]

Helpfull Post

We can configure Yum server three types.

1. LOCAL
2. FTP
3. HTTP

  • Local YUM:-

Yha Local ka matlab hai ki,  apne PC ya Laptop me Local server create karna hai, aur usme Package Install kar dena hai,  yha par kisi prakar ke Internet ki koi Requirment nhi hoti hai.  yha aap without internet ise create kar sakte hai aur Package install kar sakte hai.

  • FTP YUM:-

FTP Yum server ka matlab hai ki,  File transfer Protocol.  is tarah ke server me client packages ko FTP ke threw install karta hai . FTP server ko ek PC par nhi bna sakte,  iske liye hame do PC ki requirment hogi, jisme 1PC me YUM server create hoga,  aur dusre PC me yum client create hoga,  jub yum client yum server ko request karega to yum server use uski requst ka response dega.

  • HTTP YUM:-

Hyper text Transfer Protocol, is tarah ke server me hum package ko internet ke threw download kar install karte hai,  like Comapny ka ek server hai aur uske under me company ke sabhi PC Client,  ab jab vo client ko kisi bhi package ko install karna hoga,  to internet ki requirment hogi, agar internet connection nhi hai to vo client package install nhi kar skta.  kyunki HTTP internet par hi work karta hai.
